Artist and creative director
About Me:
After two decades of creative pursuits - ranging from conceptual art, installation, poetry, performance, computer art, animation, photography and digital design - I arrived in Second Life in the winter of 2007 looking for a new artistic spark. Rather than bringing in rl artwork, I am compelled to use mainly the elements that make up sl itself. At the same time, drawing from a long time interest in site-specific installation art, I often look to the surroundings for stories waiting to be dug up, using this to transform the space or be transformed by it. Normally my virtual artwork mixes kinetic objects, animated texture, ambient noise and av animations. I love the idea of art as a social medium and is seeking opportunities to collaborate with like minded artists and curators.

A Sketch by Juria Yoshikawa

Good day, virtual art sponges. Feeling cranky, caffiene-less and bored? Need something a little tilted? I got just what the doctor never ordered. Not a show but a sketch could be just what you need. Maybe, just maybe...

Thanks Juria, I'm a big fan of your work. It's so exciting to be in the realtime 3D space right now, much interesting work happening, and it just gets better all the time. I feel lucky to be part of this community!

Thanks back, Miulew. I like your perception of sounds made by bumps and types. It makes me think we should think more about those peripheral elements as the main sounds for a future collaboration. Now that 1 is over and 2 has started, it's hard for me to sum up my impressions. I think 1 had this first encounter freshness of working together in such a tight space with a very minimal concept of the number 1 with an artist from a country I've never been to. For me the tension of creating 1 to start the 4 series was extreme and while focused on 1 I was constantly in the back of mind concerned with how it would effect the other 3 and how to create suspense for the next 2. This is is something I haven't spoken about with anyone except my wife. Creating a serial art piece for me is the greatest challenge and the newest thing. At the same time, working with you and having such an amazing soundscape to work in collaboration with my installation has made the journey very rewarding. I'd love to continue working with you and AOM. Ciao, JY

Hi Juria, nice to see you here, as I already enjoy the little bits we are collaborating on - I hope you like my rather unfluffy soundwork :-)
