LETTERO. THE PRIMITIVE SMILEY
Lettero is the archetipe of actual digital pictograms as "smiley". It is a primordial and universal figurative form of writing. Before writing and alphabets, man used a sort of global Palaeolithic code based on the stylization of the human figure. Lettero is a simple triangular figure that can be found in the primitive pictorial works on all continents, from America to India, from Europe to China. The studies on Lettero started in the 80's, with several articles published in magazines on art.
