Ludic Society, an affiliation of artists working in game design, opened an installation on Odyssey today in concurrence with the release of their 4th edition of their periodical at Tweakfest. Odyssey exchanged the space for placement in the new edition of Ludic Society - I can't wait to see what Max did for us! I also am curious to see the magazine in it's entirety, it appeared that only parts were displayed on Odyssey. Hardwarehacker Hoch has been hard at work putting together the Odyssey installation which includes a number of kinetic pieces and a circular track for racing unicycles- although the unicycles were not shared to participants - maybe they will be soon - i hope. I rode my modified street bike

around the track to get a feel for it - it's fun! Maybe we'll hear more on how the real life event went here on the Odyssey website, again there was a sense of disjunction between the real life event and what was happening in SL. We have to keep working on mixed reality events and come up with ways to get more of the first life space into SL and to improve interaction between first and second life participants. These early experiments are important explorations though, whether or not they succeed. Thanks to all that showed up to be a part! Here are a few snaps I took.
