About Me:
Gualtiero and Roberto Carraro have been working in contemporary art and multimedia since the 1980’s, participating at the XLII VENICE BIENNALE in 1986.
They exhibited some "computerized visual alphabets" in the first "Planet Art Network" where groups of artists from all over the world exchange images and messages.
Their projects have been documented in a video presented at the Bonn VIDEONALE. The international EURO language, based on the common roots of the European languages, is used in the study of the image at the European conference EUREKA and the SCIENCE RESEARCH SHOW held at the Milan Fair.
In 1990 Gualtiero and Roberto Carraro exhibited “Artefax” at the Bologna Gallery of Modern Art.
Production of multimedia hypertexts began for the International “Gold Compass” Design award and the “Smau Industrial Design award”, with the Carraro brothers sitting on the jury in 1990 and 91.
Visual projects translated into the planning of important exhibitions on technological innovation for the Smau in Milan, from 1991 to 2001, including the Information Piazza, the Multimedia Theatre, the City of networks, the Global Village, and Mobile Life.
Since the 1990’s they have published over 100 works on CD ROM and DVD, translated into various languages in many countries and distributed in millions of copies all over the world.
Since 1988 they have been responsible for all the multimedia catalogues for the exhibitions of Palazzo Grassi in Venice.
International acknowledgements include the EMMA award at the Frankfurt book fair of 1995, with the Gospel on CD ROM, the Macromedia award in London with “Rome 2000 years ago” and the Moebius, in Lugarno in 2001 with “Omnia Art” and Reunion Island in 2005 with “Wonders of the 21st century”.
In 2007 Gualtiero and Roberto Carraro created "codex Art " at Telecom Design island in Second Life, a virtual lab dedicated to 3d form of writing and to virtuality as digital esperanto. The island has been opened on november 30th, 2007, with the performance "Futuristic babel Tower".
